We look forward to 2021 full of optimism!

We hope that you had a good start into the new year and that you are as optimistic as we are about the future.

The past year has shown us that Taurecon Real Estate Consulting GmbH and the project team of Quartier Heidestrasse are able to respond to new requirements responsible and efficient at the same time. Despite the new challenges that the pandemic even brought to the real estate industry, we are proud to say that our digitally fully networked and innovative Quartier Heidestrasse has continued to grow. With around 295,000 square meters of gross floor area for office, commercial and retail use, as well as around 944 flats, it is the largest quarter project in Berlin’s new Europacity. Thanks to our reliable partners and to our dedicated team, we were able to celebrate successes and achieve important milestones in 2020.

Our 2020 highlights:

In March 2020 we were able to announce the letting of 8,100 square meters of office space in the QH Core building, the first construction phase of the quarter, to the international grid operator 50Hertz. This means that the entire office space of the centrally located QH Core is now leased.

In June 2020 we published that approximately 5,700 square meters of QH Spring, the southern entrée building of the quarter, have been leased for the next 20 years with an option to extend. Althoff Hotels, a renowned German hotel chain, will open a 180-room hotel building of its new URBAN LOFT brand here by the end of 2021.

In July 2020 the dm drugstore chain leased 880 square meters on the ground floor of QH Core and, together with the full-range retailer REWE, will be the local shopping spot for the entire Europacity in the future.

In September 2020 we celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for the last of the nine structures of QH Track together with Ramona Pop, Berlin Senator for Economics, and Dr. Martin Heinig, Managing Director of SAP Berlin QH Track closes the quarter to the west and offers around 133,000 square meters of modern innovated office space, 30,000 of which have already been leased to SAP. The software group will establish a new SAP campus here.

In October 2020 ADLER Group S.A. also opted for QH Track. The listed real estate company leases 6,800 square meters of office space in building D of the complex for 10 years with an option to extend as its new German headquarters.

In November 2020 we were able to hoist the topping-out wreath over QH Spring, unfortunately this time without the usual celebration due to the pandemic. In addition to the URBAN LOFT hotel, a daycare center, retail space and 260 flats(mostly rent-controlled) are being built on a 20,000 square meters rental space in three structures.

In December 2020 the first building complex of the new quarter, QH Core, was largely completed, and the rental spaces are currently handed over to the tenants step by step.

We were particularly pleased about this news from November 2020: As part of the innovation competition by ZIA Zentraler Immobilienausschuss e.V., Quartier Heidestrasse was awarded for its concept of developing mixed-use urban spaces as a digital network within the innovation cluster “Intelligent energy supply and digitalization in networked quarters”! In this context, the ZIA Innovation Report 2020 refers to smart digitization strategies and cross-sector collaboration, among other things.

To be able to look back on 2020 with so many successes and positive results, despite the unforeseen challenges caused by the pandemic, we owe that primarily to the tireless commitment and flexibility of all of our employees.

This team spirit will ensure that the work on the construction sites continues untiringly and according to plan, with the result of once again celebrating many new groundbreakings, topping-out ceremonies, completions, and new lettings this year.

We are looking forward to the challenges of 2021 and we will face them with success.
