Berlin, 12.07.2020 – Another renowned retailer moves into Quartier Heidestrasse. The beauty and personal care retailer dm is to lease approx. 880 m² of space on the ground floor of the QH Core building. Located on Quartiersplatz in the heart of the quarter, QH Core is the development’s first building to near completion. Its ground floor will carry mainly retail for convenience shopping for residents and occupants.

Perfect fit for a modern neighbourhood

Thomas Bergander, managing director of Quartier Heidestrasse, spoke at the signing of the contract. “We are very pleased dm is moving into Quartier Heidestrasse because high-quality retailers make an important contribution to the vibrancy of our neighbourhood. With a dm store in the centre of the quarter, access to everyday necessities will be easy and convenient. And with dm’s popular products and customer-friendly approach, we have gained an excellent tenant, and one that is a perfect fit for us.”“

Jens Weigel, divisional head of expansion at dm-drogerie markt GmbH + Co KG also spoke. “The location of this new, central part of Berlin, and the mix in Quartier Heidestrasse, convinced the company the location was also ideal for us. The concept of a mixed, smart and sustainable neighbourhood suits dm and our claim to be modern, innovative and sustainable.”

Well placed in the centre of Berlin

As a residential and office location with food and retail businesses, QH Core will form the heart of Quartier Heidestrasse, located in the northern part of Europacity near Berlin’s main station. Designed by ROBERTNEUN Architects, QH Core is notable for its distinctive red-brick facade. And the retail giant REWE Group has also confirmed their tenancy in the building.

Quartier Heidestrasse is growing

Quartier Heidestrasse, a multifaceted, urban quarter under construction on 8.5 hectares in the centre of Berlin, brings together all the modern forms of working, living and housing design in one place. Several stages of construction will provide around 199,600 m² of gross floor area for offices and commercial space, a hotel and day care centre, as well as about 940 rental apartments. Besides QH Core, two further buildings, out of six in total, are also under construction – QH Spring and QH Track.
