  • Construction starts 1 March 2019, completion planned for mid-2021

Berlin, 24 January 2019. The construction permit has been issued for the planned building ensemble
QH Spring, part of the Quartier Heidestrasse in the Europacity near Berlin Central Station. Thus realisation of the project can begin as planned on 1 March 2019.

As the prelude to the Quartier Heidestrasse in the southern part of property, QH Spring offers a lively mixture of hotel, residences, retail, gastronomy and a child care centre with a green square in front. The striking characteristic of the building is the soaring residential tower that provides a panorama of the Europacity. The plan for the ensemble originates from the Berlin office CKRS Architekten.

Gross floor space for the entire complex totals 27,000 sqm above ground and 4,700 sqm below ground. Of the 258 rental units planned, 215 are subsidised in terms of the Berlin model for cooperative building development. The building components with residential use are 7-storey; the residential tower is a 12- storey building.

A 6-storey boutique hotel with 6,000 sqm of floor space, 180 rooms as well as roof terrace and outdoor courtyard spaces will make a decisive contribution to the mixture of uses giving the Quartier more life.

The child care centre with its 130 places will be located in the tower on two floors. There is space for five additional commercial units on the ground floor. The underground car park offers 61 spaces for cars of which 10 are equipped with charging stations for electro-mobility. In addition, there will be spaces for 492 bicycles. QH Spring is due to be completed in the second half of 2021.

The Quartier Heidestrasse, in the north-western part of Berlin-Mitte within the Europacity, is being developed as an urbane mixture with modern residential and office buildings, gastronomy and retail spaces, public space and green areas. The cornerstone for QH Core was already laid in the Quartier Heidestrasse in fall 2018. A centre for everyday needs, offices and apartments will be built on 28,700 sqm. Completion is scheduled for mid-2020. Altogether about 268,000 sqm of gross floor space is planned in the Quartier Heidestrasse
